Advanced Change Management Certification Program

Based on significant demand from certification program graduates, Prosci is excited to announce the first ever Advanced Change Management Certification Program. This program is designed for change management professionals who are experts and trusted advisors in their organizations. You may be deploying change management in your organization or be teaching change management to others.  During this program, attendees will cover change management concepts in depth including the history and evolution of change management, environmental success factors, portfolio management and enterprise change management.  The goal is for you to become the "place to go" for change management in your organization. Below are some initial details of the program. Email a Prosci analyst or call 970-203-9332 for more information.

The Advanced Change Management Certification Program begins with a meet and greet dinner on Monday night with instruction beginning Tuesday morning. The course concludes at 3:00 PM on Thursday. There are evening activities and presentations on Wednesday night of the program.

Prerequisite:

Prerequisites for this program include:

  • Prosci certification (learn more about the 3-day certification program)
  • Approved course application
  • Must pass entry exam
  • Two years minimum in change management application experience
  • Have a recently completed project where the Prosci methodology was applied

The program is designed with an extensive focus on bringing change management into an organization, so attendance is targeted for internal employees. Consultants should inquire with Prosci about additional requirements. Additional requirements for consultants include:

  • Engagement with a particular client providing direct change management services for longer than six months
  • Client must provide authorization for case study and State of Change Management pre-work
Pre-work:

The program will have extensive pre-work, and attendees are expected to invest significant time and energy in preparation to be active and valuable members of the program. Estimated 40 to 50 hours of pre-course preparation.

The four pre-work components are:

  • Change Management Literature Review - Each attendee will read excerpts from a list of seminal change management works. Each attendee will also be responsible for preparing a ten-minute "compare and contrast" overview of two of these works that will be delivered in the Advanced Program.
  • Change Portfolio Management Data - Participants will need to collect data on a number of key initiatives in their organization as part of the Change Portfolio Management module.
  • Case studies - Participants will write two short case studies on their application of change management on projects in their organization. Templates and guidelines will be provided upon registration. One case study will present a successfully completed application of the methodology and one will present a current situation and the challenges you are facing.
  • State of Change Management at your organization - Participants will write a short synopsis of deployment efforts at your organization and the current State of Change Management.
Course topics:

Making you a change management expert
The focus of the Advanced Program is to move beyond what is covered in the certification program. This is not simply a deeper dive into topics already covered in the certification program. The course is aimed at providing you the additional background, context and depth of knowledge to make you the "go to" person on any issue related to managing the people side of change. The current outline includes modules on:

  • History and Evolution of Change Management
  • Analysis of Change Management Models
  • Environmental Success Factors
  • Change Portfolio Management and Change Saturation
  • Enterprise Change Management Strategies and Deployment Methods
  • Sponsorship Engagement and Coaching
  • Manager and Supervisor Competency Development
  • Applied Resistance Management
  • Advanced Change Management Applications - Case Study Analysis
