Positioning to succeed in 2006

As 2005 comes to a close, you may be preparing for significant organizational change. Whether it is new products, improved processes, new job roles, or entire transformational programs - your changes will impact people.

This new resource from the Change Management Learning Center, "Positioning to succeed in 2006", is designed to prepare you, your team, your sponsors and your organization to start thinking, planning and taking action in the remainder of 2005 to position the organization for success in 2006.

To get started:

  1. Browse the  "Positioning to succeed" resource home page to familiarize yourself with the big picture of this new resource.
  2. Complete the start-up worksheet below - a printable copy is provided to use with your team.
  3. Submit additional topic ideas that would be useful for your team (submit function is found below the worksheet).
  4. Stay tuned each week as a new topic from the "Positioning to succeed" resource will be highlighted.

As a simple exercise - think through the worksheet below. It is likely that your organization is introducing many changes that require people to work differently - with new processes, tools, systems, reporting structures and job roles. However, many project teams fall into the trap of thinking that if they design a fantastic solution, then people will get on board and support the change.  Thinking now about how people in your current and future changes will be affected will give you a head start for the new year.
